This brochure was designed as a brand identity that exudes the pride artists feel for borough and captures the funky energy of its art scene. The designer extended the look across several print pieces with varying challenges: a poster, to an informative fold-out piece and a postcard.

Alex Tomkins created concepts which visually demonstrated the art of creative packaging, playing on the folds and geometric shapes that are inherently embedded in the history of packaging solutions.

As a compendium to the Designers in Residence show at the Design Museum we followed up the exhibition with a catalogue profiling each designer and the process they went through to create their exhibits. Following the show’s theme, we designed an ‘imperfect’ booklet featuring dynamic page shapes. These shapes create unique sections each with their own typeface and colour to reflect the four individual designers.

Leveraging the significant equity of its global brand the booklet emphasises the bold statistics that demonstrate Doctors of the World’s impact and reach.

The institution, which includes the internationally renowned campuses Central St. Martins, London College of Fashion and London College of Print, wanted to share advice with its lecturers and managers on the latest hot topics in creative learning, ranging from students working collaboratively to enterprise and employability. We engineered a novel folding and tab system for the series of booklets which brings the voices of the contributors to life and ensures the essential support material is easily selected from the shelves for reference.

They designed a brochure that highlights the ways that encouraging new apartments and rental housing through favorable policy measures can lead to municipal savings, more jobs, increased economic activity, and vibrant communities. Living as they do in New York, they were proud to support positive perceptions of apartment life through a series of whimsical illustrations.

The brochure has to sell the condos targeted for families need to be playful and attractive, modern and fresh. As the approach and solution the designer made an unusual folding and format with colorful geometric shapes to give more fun to the information and make the piece less ordinary.

The ACLU’s Rights/Camera/Action program encourages entertainers and celebrities to participate in vital debates on civil rights in their work. The program sponsors discussion forums and study groups to promote and understand the role of mass media in effecting social change. Hyperakt resolved the program’s branding by referencing the iconic image of the “action” clapboard. This immediately communicates the ACLU’s connection to the film and entertainment industry. A stark black and white color palette was established to respect the seriousness of the content. Strong diagonal graphic elements referencing the logo are present throughout the promotional brochure, website and posters created for the program.

The TED Prize booklet takes readers on a journey through the dreams of the prize winners, and was given out to every TED conference attendee. We designed the booklet with a nested bullseye die-cut, filled it with gorgeous photography and data visualizations of the quantifiable impact of the award. All in the visual vocabulary of the parent brand.
